Oh, I have just been scammed by the same guy, but as a writer. He seems to be doing this a lot that Navendra Ganesha Pillai. I wrote some articles for him. He paid for the trial one, and then planned not to pay for all the other articles I wrote. I tracked him down thanks to pay pal, found his real name , since he goes under Edmund Ferous these days. I found a blog by some other poor writer who got scammed by him. Then I found this. What can I say- he’s a fraud! And, what got me furious is that I caught him bragging on his Facebook profile about an easy money he made, without working at all.

The site looks very nice, Eric. This seems to me like the type of website someone would promote on facebook or twitter. Have you thought about putting “tweet this quote” or “post this quote to facebook” on your pages, which would then add a link to your website and drive more viral-type traffic to it?

Yes, I have tried domain development services like TrafficZ.com and Whypark.com, although not those 2 in particular. I never had much success with them, although I know many people are happy with the results.

As an author and business man, I can relate to how you said ” Unlike most other domainers, I am in a better position to flip domains because if I can’t easily sell a domain I can develop it instead and hold it as long as needed until I get a good offer on it”. Thank you for your feedback on my attempts to come up with domain names. As you didn’t say ‘don’t give up the day job’ I will now study the thing properly. If you had to recommend one good book on the domain name business, what would it be?
BUILDING A WEBSITE RE TRAFFIC
Last summer I paid a webmaster to build me a commercial ebook shop web site, using Xsitepro2. I wrote a small review for every product, and sometimes a large review, so there was plenty for a search spider to work through. I don’t think that that site has ever had any natural traffic.
In the autumn I took a free blog and started writing on a niche hobby of mine. I did nothing to promote that blog, but I had natural visitors almost from the first week. Around 50 visitors turned up in the first month, and all I was doing was blogging my knowledge. For a brief period I even ranked Number One in google.
When Flo Rida’s ‘Good Feeling’ appeared on a TV ad I blogged my interpretation of its lyrics and I had visitors who searched “explain Flo Rida lyrics” (I have Visitor Analytics).
My view is that google’s search algorythms are dramatically IN FAVOUR of blog sites, and SKEWED AGAINST commercial websites. If I ever develop a domain name in the future, it will be with a WordPress-type blog, which has a facility for sales pages.

weundercut.com is a good domain. For the other domains, as you said, you never know what kind of high offers you will get, so it can’t hurt to try selling them. I agree, I often register new short and catchy domains for sites I want to create, so if you spend 1/2 and hour to an hour looking you can usually find something.

I don’t think Andrew Rosener would sell any of those domains, but they would be good to put on Sedo.com or Afternic.com, and also Godaddy.com auctions sells a lot of domains like those.

***** The idea that there is a finite limit on aesthetic 3 or even 2 word combinations is hilarious. Logic tells you that there must be, but when you chuck in abbreviations, misspellings and the occasional number, that limit is way beyond any need to worry.

The arcade part is just a rough version I am using while I am developing a better version. The new version has custom developed adventure games with a rewards system built into the site and also Facebook integration. But, since the I bought the domain, I have also had several companies offer to buy it from me, so I may end up selling the domain instead of developing it. I might close a deal on it as soon as next week.

My bf got me a Kindle Fire for my birthday and I love it. It’s lightweight and easy to use straight out of the box. The first thing I recommend anyone with a new Kindle do is install the nook app. We got our instructions from http://www.kindlemad.com through google. It basically unlocks all the Android marketplace apps and unlocks the device. Super happy!

I actually had 3-10 articles per minisite up until recently but the sites were not getting search engine traffic so I reduced it to one article per site and traffic went up by about 25%. But, I am redoing all the minisites anyhow to look nicer and I will then add back all the extra articles also.

p/s- is it just me but I don’t think you will be able to gain sufficient traffic with one page sites like GetMortgages.com , it is possible to succeed with only one article but for niches like mortgages you should be targeting long tail keywords.

I understand but my experience is that pay writer won’t make you earn money. The only sustainable business model for online publishing is ad revenue sharing.

This way, the stupid indian article rewritter from cybercafe im mumbai will get its 0.0001$ per year, while the US writer with true knowledge will get, through the natural backlinks, a true earning.

it’s not a surprise to me that your are sites are not getting ranks – even with that content , you must also build some back links to the site in order to see good results with it.
content creation is a good direction (beats parking with today rates) but its only half of the work.

(*small tip about this – there is a mod on NP by the name of John Baron that sells back links packages – i order a few packages from him and the results were truly amazing)

After seeing WAY too many scams out there I have come to the conclusion that the authorities need to prosecute every part of the scheme as they do drug cartels. From PayPal on down, along with the telecommunicatiosn companies that allow fraud to happen for way too long. We have credit card acceptance firms involved many times and there is no way the fraudsters could operate for so long without these “legit” companies helping them by lettig them use their services. One link in the fraud chain is as guilty as the other IMHO. You can notify these companies and they most likely will not stop it if it brings profits. The BBB still rates businesses at an A level even if they have many complaints nowadays. Sad scene.

It is a good story and I think that this guy was trying to scam you again the second time when he was admiting his quilt(just to get more money and have some sympathy to him).
I can not believe how good some people are in creting scams and these day there are lots of LEGAL SCAMS where they sell you something that sounds easy and would make you a lot of money but it turns out that you need to work for years to have some results!

Interesting article but with all that said, it is nothing new or different for the most part. It is assuvmed the the shady culprit is from India. It has been my personal experience that every, “Indian Domainer” I have dealt with in some way tried to rip me off. I no longer do business with them. My network of top level veteran domainers also have learned and no longer do business with 3rd world countries. They are all over FB and linked and have all but taken over Google +. Lastly, I am generalizing here but it is what it is……Kev
